Timezone hupishana
Many distributed teams aim for about 4 hours of shared working time. That is enough for a daily check-in, a few live calls, and quick back-and-forth, while leaving the rest of the day for focused async work. Less overlap can work, but it leans harder on written handoffs.
Async work means people contribute on their own schedule instead of at the same moment. You leave clear written updates, decisions, and questions, and a teammate picks them up when their day starts. It is how teams stay productive when their working hours barely overlap.
Find the shared window first, then book inside it so nobody joins at midnight. Rotate the meeting time if the overlap sits early for one side and late for the other, keep a written summary for anyone who could not attend, and confirm the time in each persons local zone.
